Performance Analysis and Benchmarking of PLL-Driven Phasor Measurement Units for Renewable Energy Systems

Phasor measurement units (PMUs) are a key part of electrical power systems, providing the dynamic monitoring and control impacting overall operation synchronization network if not properly designed. This paper investigates use phase-locked loop (PLL)-based algorithm for PMUs (to accurately find magnitude, phase, frequency) in three-phase system. Various PLLs reported literature, ranging from very basic to advanced, capable dealing with normal abnormal grid behavior mainly used grid-connected converters. In this paper, number were utilized perform PMU functions, benchmarking study has been investigated analyze developed PLL-driven under various conditions (such as unbalanced faults, harmonics, frequency variations).
